This is a sewing pattern for an ankle length skirt, as worn about 1900 riding a bicycle.
Length of skirt is 34” (87cm).
The skirt has two folds on the side back portion of the waistband. A deep box pleat at the center back provides for width needed sitting on a bicycle saddle. The skirt can be worn with or without a corset.
The waistband is divided in two parts, the skirt will be closed at the left side with buttons, on the right side there is a hidden pocket underneath the button tab.
The hem is worked with a hem facing from fashion fabric.
All visible seams on the hem, waistband and appliques are topstitched from the right side with a thicker thread in matching colour.
A seam allowance of 5/8” (1,5cm) is included, except differing instructions directly on the sewing pattern.
Also suitable for steampunk costumes.
