This is a DIGITAL sewing pattern for an 1830´s Frock Coat. The term Frock Coat is mention from 1816 for a male coat like garment. Developed from the over coat it offered more warmth then a Dress Coat. Contrasting to the overcoat it was tight fitting, emphasizing a narrow waistline. During the 18th century similar garments were worn by working man, but got out of style completely during the Empire / Regency era. During the 19th century the Frock Coat developed form an informal garment to formal day wear. This sewing pattern tries to show a detailed and historically accurate construction of a 1830´s Tailcoat . But of course all interfacings can be replaced by fusible, a modern working and machine sewing can be chosen. Also suitable for steampunk or cosplay costumes.
