This is a DIGITAL sewing pattern for an 1830´s Frock Coat.

The term "Frock Coat" first appeared in 1816, referring to a coat-like garment for men. Evolving from the overcoat, it provided more warmth than a Dress Coat. Unlike the overcoat, the Frock Coat was tight-fitting, highlighting a narrow waistline. In the 18th century, similar garments were worn by working men but fell out of fashion during the Empire/Regency era. Throughout the 19th century, the Frock Coat transitioned from informal attire to formal daywear.

This sewing pattern tries to show a detailed and historically accurate construction of an 1830´s Tailcoat. But of course, all interfacings can be replaced by fusible, a modern working and machine sewing can be chosen. This is no beginner sewing pattern.

Also suitable for steampunk or cosplay costumes.

The pattern comes with detailed and illustrated sewing instructions in English and German. It is a multi-size sewing pattern, you can choose between Sizes US 34-44 (EU 44-54) and Sizes US 46-56 (EU 56-66). A seam allowance of 5/8" (1,5cm) is included in my patterns.
The pattern is ready to be printed out on DIN A4 or US Letter. Format DIN A0 to be printed at a plotter / copy-shop comes with a second email at no additional costs.
