This is a sewing pattern for men´s fall front breeches, worn around 1800.

This sewing pattern shows breeches of the late 18th and early 19th century with a fall front, side pockets, and a coin pocket at the waistband (welt pocket). The breeches are buttoned at the knee, the narrow knee band is closed with ribbons. They have a wide waistband, buttoned in the front underneath the fall, the width of the waistband can be regulated with cotton tape at the back. Compared to modern trousers, the breeches have a wide back and diverging legs to get the width needed while sitting on horseback. They are cut with one seam only along the outside leg, optionally the second leg seam can be added easily.
