This is a DIGITAL sewing pattern for a Regency dress with Tulip Sleeves.
The dress in this sewing pattern has no extant garment after which it was designed. It shows more of a historically inspired Empire dress and can be located at the end of the Regency era. The first tulip or petal sleeves can be seen on dresses from the 1850s.
The dress will perfectly complement pattern #0323, which features a spencer with puffed oversleeves.
The bodice is flatlined with lightweight cotton or linen fabric, as well as the sleeves. Both neckline and sleeves feature contrasting piping. The bodice closes with hooks and eyes in the center back, instead, a hidden zipper can be inserted if wanted.
The skirt is directly attached to the bodice and folded into knife pleats at the back, the front panel is sewn on with just some ease.
The skirt should end about 2” off the floor in the front and be a bit longer in the back, touching the floor slightly but not being a train. A matching belt can be worn with the dress.
I recommend wearing the dress with historically accurate underwear and stays. Especially the front bodice is quite short and the underbust line lies significantly above the modern when wearing just a bra.
